YOUR Seminar

Mathematics (Pure & Applied)
What: The Young and Old Undergraduate Research Seminar is a seminar specifically for undergraduates whom already engaged in undergraduate research and/or those interested in participating in research. Mathematics is long thought to be completely inaccessible to undergraduates, but that is just not the case. Come and learn about the many rewarding research opportunities in mathematics (Paid and Volunteer).
When: The meetings will occur weekly, every Friday. Our first meeting will be Friday (February 24th) at 5:10 PM in Surge 277 (the undergraduate study lounge)
Who: This seminar, as the name describes, is for any undergraduate student interested in finding out how to participate in undergraduate research and/or present his or her own research.

Interested in applying for an undergraduate summer research project, but don't know how to begin? Come to this meeting of the YOUR Seminar, and receive tips on writing proposals and statements of intent. In particular, we will be going over the mechanics of applying for the Dean's Summer Research Fellowship, available through the College of Natural and Agricultural Science. However, our tips will still apply to any fellowship application process.
Have a project already? That's great! Please email me if you would like to talk about your experiences in applying for REU's and the like.
